We took Grandpa up to the North Shore. He also loved it. We went to Kilauea Lighthouse, Hanalei, and even to the end of the road, Ke'e (although I didn't get any pictures there). It was another wonderful day showing him our beautiful island we call home.

Waimea with Grandpa
I know I posted pictures of Waimea canyon not too long ago, but it's too pretty to not share again. He couldn't believe how beautiful it was. He kept commenting on it, how there were no words to describe it, and how amazing God is to have made such beauty for us to see. I love that man!
Grandpa at Luau
One way we tried to spoil Grandpa was taking him to a Luau. We love the food (and grounds!) at Smith's, so that's where we go now. The kids love it for feeding the birds and peacocks. The show is fun, and they seem so nice there. We just really enjoyed it, and I think Grandpa did too!
This one isn't amazing or anything, but I had just started my photography class and I took this without my flash, using the information I had learned. It would have been terrible without a flash normally. I'm pretty excited about that!

Track Meet 2012
Aidan wanted to run on the track meet again this year. I feel badly about it, but we really dislike going. It is so hot, and it lasts for hours, which is frustrating, because if they did things differently, they could have multiple events going on at a time. We go to support our boy, and we love that he wants to participate in these type of things.
He ran the 50 m and the 100 m. He didn't win anything, but we are proud of him for deciding to do something and following through with it. Great job Aidan!

Makahiki 2012
Since Spencer is the scoutmaster for our ward, we get to go to lots of scouting things. The Makahiki is one of them. It's a big pow-wow thing; the cub scouts do the final races for the Pinewood Derby, and each troop has a booth with games or activities. The weather was perfect for it. It was warm and sunny, but not too warm and we had a nice cool trade wind blowing through to keep us comfortable.
Aidan's car didn't win any races at the Pinewood Derby, but it was close. Not too bad for his very first year!
Our troop had a hula hoop contest. I think the winner did it for over and hour and a half straight. Spencer used to be amazing at it; he once did it for over two hours straight and actually won a prize for it when he worked at Stouffer's. I guess he's lost that skill in his old age, 'cause he can't do it anymore.

The troop next to ours had this cool tightrope thing and all the boys were walking it. Aidan was pretty scared at first and I figured he wouldn't go, but then he just ran up the ladder and did it. We were so proud of him, because it's not often he will try to do something that he is afraid of.
